Temple of Dendur
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s extensive Egyptian collection includes the Temple of Dendur, originally erected in Nubia in approximately 15 bc. The temple was built by the Roman emperor Augustus and honors the goddess Isis and two deified sons of a local Nubian chieftain.
